(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The rank of Commander of the Mos.t, Excellent Order of the British Empire has been conferred on Brigadier Thomas Joseph King, 0.8. E. He is a regular force officer and prior to going overseas with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force was Director of Ordnance Services and Chief Ordnance Office at Trentham. He served with the Bth and 9th Middle East Armies in the same capacity and on the liberation of Athens was concerned with the provision of food and clothing for the Greeks. He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in January, 1941. He returned to New Zealand last May.
