RED CROSS SOCIETY.

THE ALLENTON SUB-BRANCH. Appreciation of parcels was expressed in letters from servicemen overseas, received by the Allenton subbranch of the Red Cross Society. There was a fair attendance, presided over by the president (Mrs J. P. Bootliroyd). Knitting handed in included a balaclava, pullover, Crauwell jersey, scarf and five pairs of mittens. A pair of pyjamas was also received.

The hostesses were Mrs Greaves and Miss Osborn. Mrs Greaves was in charge of the sales table.
