A joint communique issued in India says: “Royal Air Force Hurricanes attacked enemy water transport on the Mayu River. A formation of fighters vigorously machine-gunned .50 supply sampans on the Irrawaddy between Cliauk and Tenangyaung. All the sampans wore either damaged or dost roved.

“Last night Wellingtons attacked Kanguang airfield, in Central Burma, hits being scored on the runway and fires were started. Other AVellingtons bombed Meiktla airfield and the village of Yagyanby, on Akyab island. All our aircraft are safe.”—British Official Wireless.
