£704 IN HAND AT 2 O’CLOCK. An investment of £SOO effected a big improvement in t'he Ashburton National Savings account this afternoon, advancing the amount in hand at the Post Office to £704, which puts the quota of £BB2 within fairly easy reach. With the figure at £204, however, the position was little better than it was last Friday, when the situation was also saved by an investment of £SOO.
