A motion of sympathy with Mrs M. E. Ruddock (the president) in her illness was carried at the annual meeting of the Ashburton Cavendish Chib yesterday. ,

Sister Mavis Patterson, of Knox Church, Dunedin, is expected to arrive at Ashburton within t'he hext fortnight to take up her duties as deaconess at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. and Mrs W. N. Flett left Ashburton yesterday for Wanganui. Before their departure a presentation of a gift of china, was made to, Mrs Flett by Miss «T. Dahlberg on behalf of the Girls’ Bible Class, of which Mrs Flett was the leader.
