LAND, SEA AND AIR FORCES. WHOLE COUNTRY PREPARED, “FIGHT TO FINAL VICTORY.” (Received This Day, .9.25 a.m.) LONDON, October 28. Reports arriving here state that the Italians attacked Greece by land, sea and air simultaneously. A naval force is reported to be attacking Corfu. Italian planes dropped bombs on the Corinthian Isthmus. The Greek authorities, however, had anticipated Italian action and the whole country is prepared to throw itself into the fight. People gathered in the streets and shouted “Down with Italy!” Their ono goal is total victory. The form of the Italian ultimatum is not certain, but it is. known that' the Italian Minister’s Note accused Greece of allowing her territorial waters to be used by the British Fleet for operations against Italy and Albania. Italy demanded free passage for troops and materials to strategic points on the Greek peninsula. The King, in a message to his people, spid: “The Prime Minister has just announced, and you understand, on what terms we have been compelled to go to war against Italy, which covets Greece’s independence. At this great moment I feel sure that, every Greet: man and woman will do their duty to the end and show themselves worthy of our glorious history. With faith in God and our destinies, the nation ns a disciplined body and as one man will fight for their hearths to final victory.”
