NEARLY 61,000 VOLUNTEERS. OVER 24,400 ENTER. CAMPS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The final returns of voluntary enlistment over the whole Dominion for service with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force show a total to July 22, when the voluntary system ended, of 60,812. Of those who had been before a medical board up to that date, 39,936 were passed as fit and 9277 declared permanently unfit. At the end of last week there were 5328 awaiting medical examination. Important occupations held back 3037. In all 24,494 have been sent to camp and 10,238 are awaiting despatch to camp.
