DEATH OF A TRAINER.

APPARENT SEIZURE IN A GIG. (Per Press Association). TIMARU, This Day..... ’ The well-known horse-trainer, Air William John Spence, met. his death this morning". He was proceeding out from Timaru in a gig when it is presumed he had a seizure, the horse bolting. The animal swerved at the foot of. a hill and Mr Spence was thrown from (the gig, landing on his head on the tar-sealed road. He was beyond aid when picked up, and life was extinct when the doctor arrived. At one time Air Speiiee trained and raced trotters, and for the last, ten years had been a trotting stud-master.
