The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather : An anti-cyclone is moving slowly eastward off the North Island while a depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Moderate to fresh northerly winds, rain developing in the< ranges. Weather fair to fine on the plains. Moderate temp natures. Seas slight to moderate.
