BROTHERS ACCUSED
ALLEGED CONVERSION. A HUNDRED CARS INVOLVED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 29. Arrested late on Saturday night, two brothers, Leslie Archie Norris, aged 17, and Arthur Henry Norris, aged 19, were charged before Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., to-day with the unlawful conversion of a sports car, valued at £2OO, belonging to Richard Ford Sweetzer. It was stated that the youths had confessed to the conversion of 100 cars within the last six months, the total value being about £20,000. A number had been put over hanks and considerably damaged. In addition a quantity of valuable property left in the cars was missing. It was not suggested that the accused stole the property. The police said that apparently the accuseds’ method was to take two cars and run them into one another, or else push tlieiq over hanks. A remand was granted until December 6 for further inquiries. Suppression of the names was refused. Bail amounting to £l5O in each case was fixed.
