DEFENCE OF JEWRY.

A WORLD-WIDE ORGANISATION. DECISION BY THE CONGRESS. i United Press Association —Copyright 1 WASHINGTON, November 28. Delegates from 60 Jewish communities attended an emergency session of the American Jewish congress to form a world-wide organisation to fight antiSeiiiitism. The report of the congress stated that 5,000,000 Jews in Central Europe were seriously endangered by antiJewish movements, and by totalitarian Governments. A cardinal task was the defence of the status of the Jews. ' Reactionary forces in Central and Eastern Europe were responsible for the .most brutal oppression the world had ever seen. Their method was the pogrom, popularised by Nazi Germany, and adopted by Poland', Rumania, Danzig, Austria, Hungary, and other States which wore apparently anti-Semitic. It is planned to enlist in the organisation every Jew over the age of 18 throughout the world.
