TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB. MARIE’S ACRE WINS PLATE. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 29. The Takapuna Jockey Club concluded its spring meeting to-day at Ellerslie. The weather was ideal and the track fast. The attendance was 8000, compared with 7000 last year, and the totalisator handled £34,379 10s, compared with £27,602 10s on the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £7B, 336 10s, compared with £58,953 10s last year„ an increase of £19,383. Results: — Rakino Handicap, of £225; five furlongs.—l (2) Te Hero, 9.6 (C. G. Goulsbro) 1,2 (1) Arvakur, 8.13 2, 8 (10) Calorie, 7.2 3. Won by a nose; a length between second and third. Time, 1.0 4-5. Pupuke Plate, of £400; one mile.—l (1) Marie’s Acre, B.o!(Cameron) 1, 4 (4) High Sea, 7.7 2, 6 (6) Melvanui, 8.5 3. Won by three-quarters of a length; a length between second and third. Time, 1.40 1-5. Ngataringa Handicap, of £250; six furlongs.—l (1) Palustre, 7.7 (Curwen) 1,2 (2) Farland, 7.0 2, 4 (3) Peter Rockford, 9.0 3. AVon by a head; a. nose l>etween second and third. Time, 1.13 4-5. Cautlev Handicap, of £175; seven furlongs.—3 (3) Cappy, 7.11 (Wiggins) 1,2 (1) Lady Meath, 7.11 2, 4 (4) Gold Vaals, 7.9 3. AVon by a length; same between second and third.
