On account of the state of "the track after heavy rain last night the fit st clay of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting has been postponed till tomorrow. A party of Oamaru sportsmen on arriving for the trots were so annoyed at hading that the meeting had been postponed that they telegraphed a protest to the New Zealand Trotting 'Conference. Nevertheless the effect of the ram on the surface of the track, recenty i enewed with fresh clay which has not bound as was expected," rendered it unfit and dangerous to horses and drivers alike, and the committee’s decision is approved by owners, trainers and drivers.
