RHODES SCHOLARS.
SELECTION METHODS ATTACKED. (United Press Association —Copyright.) ADELAIDE, February 19. Tho Australian. Students Congress passed a resolution expressing dissatisfaction with the present method of selecting Rhodes scholars. It was alleged that insufficient consideration was given by tbe .selection committee to Mr Rhodes's expressed desire that emphasis should be placed on personality and capacity for leadership, and while it was not considered that brilliance in sport was a necessary quality, it appeared in some eases inadequate. Consideration was given to the terms of Mr Rhodes’s will in respect to candidates’ fondness for and participation in manly outdoor sports.
