WANGANUI FARMERS PROTEST.

WANGANUI, August 19. The following resolution was carried by « well-attended meeting of the Wanganui provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union to-day : That this meeting of farmers strongly protest against the proposed, substantial increase ,in taxation as set out in the budget,' especially the graduated land tax, and considers this only a further heavy cost against primary production, which cost has already been considerably increased by recent legislation.
