Following a long battle with the honorary medical staff the ; Queensland Government, with the concurrence of the British Medical Association, decided to end the honorary system of; medical service at Brisbane General Hospital. • It has decreed that sick poor should be able to command the services of'leading physicians, surgeons and specialists, which is made possible by substantial profits from the Golden Casket lottery.
