CAR OVERTURNS.
DR AND MRS THACKER INJURED MRS W. S. BEAN ALSO HURT. (Special to the " Guardian.'"> CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Dr. H. T. J. Thacker, Mrs Thacker, and Mrs W. S. Bean, wire of Canon Bean, were all injured when the doctor's motor-car skidded in the shingle on the Akaroa Road at Kaituna at 11 a.m. yesterday. The car somersaulted off the road into a swamp and ended upside clown. Dr. Thacker suffered cuts and bruises, Mrs Thacker had her wrist broken and Mrs Bean received h severe injury to her head.
Dr. and Mrs Thacker were taken to their home, while Mrs Bean was taken to hospital, going to her homo later. The condition of all three was reported last evening to be satisfactory. The accident happened through *he chauffeur swerving to avoid a cyclist, and when the car came to rest upside down Mrs Thacker was the only occupant able to crawl free. The others wore pinned inside and had to stay there until passing travellers were able to give assistance. .The car was badly damaged and had to he towed into the city by a breakdown waggon.
