AMERICA'S WORKLESS.

CAMP FOR WOMEN. NEW YORK, June 3. The first Federal American unemployment camp for women and girls is being established at Bear Mountain Park, under a scheme prepared by Mrs Roosevelt and Frances Perkins, Secretary of Labour. The camp will accommodate 300, who will receive five dollars (£1 at par) a week, p:'id by the Federal Government to the State Relief Administration.

For each 10 girls there will be a counsellor, who will be paid 15 dollars (£3) a week. Only able-bodied girls and women, who are not married, will be accepted. Besides the routine of camp duties they will be given vocational training.
