LONDON, June 16. ,„ Among the craft that will take part in the Royal Air Force display at Hendon will be two standard types of military aircraft fitted with engines .consuming heavy oil, which is less inflammable, cheaper, and less bulky than petrol. Its advocates believe that the introduction of Diesel engines will make a revolution in aviation. One of the machines is fitted with Rolls-Royce water-cooled engines, the first Diesel aero engine to pass the Air Ministry's test, involving fifty hours running at full throttle. The other machine has an air-cooled British Phoenix engine, the most powerful of its kind in the world. ■ Although it weighs only 9801 b ' complete, it produces 380 horse-power. The Wapiti machine in which this engine-is fitted has climbed to* over 16,000 feet and the. engine has been run for "over 180 hours. , ' . _ .. Another prominent exhibit is the display, which as usual will afford a striking demonstration of the progress of aviation research, is the Short six-en-gined flying-boat,'weighing thirty-three tons, the largest military aircraft m the world. The world's fastest military aircratt will be seen in the modified HawkerFairy aeroplanes which are capable of a spped greater than 260 miles an hour,
