WAIMATE RACES, CONCLUDING EVENTS. (Per Press Association). WAIMATE, This Day. The Waimate Racing Club’s Jubilee meeting was held yesterday in ideal conditions. The attendance, though not of record proportions, was large, visitors being present from a wide area. The totalisator investments for the day were £8340 10s, compared with £9578 10s last year, a very satisfactory result. Concluding results: — Morven Trot.—l Scotty Bingen 1, 1 Prince Wrack (bracketed with winner) 2, 3 Free Logan 3. Scratched: Evening Sun, Locanda Moth. Won by a peck a head between second and third. Time, 3min 28 3-osee. President’s Handicap, of 125 sovs; six furlongs —1 Charmeuse (L. J. Ellis) 1, 4 Caterpillar 2, 5 Impertinence 3. Won by two lengths; a length and a half between second and third. Time, lmin 14sec. Waitangi Hack Handicap, of 100 sovs; one mile—l Some Acre (L. J. Ellis) 1, 3 Royal Limond 2,2 Pharaoh 3. Won by four lengths; five lengths between second' and third. Time, lmin 41 4-osec. Hook Trot Handicap (in harness), of 100 sovs; one mile and a quarter —2 Nelson Guy (D. C, Watts) 1, 3 Lord Antrim 2, 7 Jacob 3. Won by six lengths; two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 57 3-ssec. Stewards’ Handicap, of 100 sovs; seven furlongs—3 Night Effort (A. H. Eastwood) 1,2 Francolin 2, 1 First Raid 3. Won" by. a head; a length and a half between second and third. Time, lmin 28 l-osey. PHAR LAP’S HOLIDAY. MELBOURNE, March 19. Phar Lap will be withdrawn from all Sydney engagements and will not race again this autumn. Since his return from his spell he has not pleased liis connections, so' he will be given several months’ holiday.
