A London cable message this week explained that the Admiralty had been offered a. bulk supply of coal-oil at a price not far above the Avorld price of natural oil. It Avas stated by Mr George Hall (Civil Lord to the Admiralty), at Pontypridd, that if the production of oil from British coal Avere. developed, the nation could divert a large proportion of its expenditure of £42,009,000 a year cm imported oil to the purchase of coal from its oavii collieries.
