The attendance was moderate, and the track in excellent order. Results:— Ngaio High-weight Handicap—l Shatter 1,2 Air Laddie 2, 4 "Pat's Boy 3 Scr: Mountain Heath. "Won by a neck, two and a-half lengths between second and third. Time, 1.42. Hutt Handicap—l True Shaft 1, 10 Malayan 2, 6 Rin Tin Tin 3. Allstarted. "Won by half a length, a head •between second" and third. Time, 1.39 •Gold Cup—l Nightmareh 1,2 Karapoti 2, 4 Star Stranger 3. Scratched: Bunting Cry. Won by a length, six lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 28 3see. Muritai Handicap—2 Chief Joy 1, 3 Simba 2, 4 Playground 3. Scratched: ■Glenrossie, Appeal. Won by half a length, one length between second and third. Time, lmin 41sec. OHINEMURI RACES. P AERO A, This Day. The concluding day of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club's meeting was held in dull but fine weather. There was a good attendance. Results:— Handicap Hurdles.—2 Quinsilia 1, 7 Marble King 2, 3 Monetize 3. Scr: Cruachin. Won by a nose, the third horse a head away. Time, .'3.14 3-5. Hikutaia Hack Cup— 2 Gay Idea and 10 Grand Talk (dead heat) 1, 8 Royal Survey 3. Scr: Master Armour, Wee Prince, Billy Boy. A dead heat, the third horse a nose away. Time, 1.47 4-5. Waitekauri Handicap—l Speedmint 1, 4 Brazanna 2, 3 Dark Marble 3. Scr: Instalment. Won by half a head, a head between second and third. Time, I.IG 3-5. Shaw Memorial Handicap—Sir Mond 1, Marjoram and Eager Rose (dead heat) 2. Scr: Royal Doulton, Haviland. Grand Tea, Brampton, High Pitch. Won by a head. Time, 1.46. OPUNAKE RACING CLUB. 1 OPUNAKE, This Day. The Opunake Racing Club's annual meeting opened in> overcast and threatening weather. The track was in good order. Results:— Hurdles—3 Goblin Market 1, 1 Ten Acre 2, 7 Copey 3. All started. Won by three lengths, three lengths between second and third. Time, 2.52. Railway Hack Handicap—l Orby's Choice 2," 6 Banbridge 2, 5 The Warden 3. Scratched l ; Joyspcar, Chief Savage, Singer, Corwen. Maidep Plate—l Peter Jackson 1, 3 Hinepuni 2, 4 Silver Tinge 3. Scratched: Gold Zone. Won by three lengths, six lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 25 l-ssec.
