THREE MONTHS' GAOL.

ASSAULT ON A CONSTABLE. (Per Press Association). STRATFORD, This Day. Sidney Charles Ross, alias Rosbetter, alias "Broncho Bill," aged -10. was sentenced to threo months in gaol for assaulting a constable and using obscene language. iSorgeant Power said that accused rushed into the street, yelling at the top 'Of his voice, and using bad lan'guago. He brandished a knife, hut, said Sergeant Power, his intentions with regard to the weapon were not clear. Accused went into his house. When the police arrived he rushed at Constable Rushton, threatened the officer with a fire shovel. "Accused was a dangerous man, who previously served two years' for causing bodily harm. He is a danger to the community," said the sergeant.
