FRANCE DEFEATS GERMANY. FIRST GAME FOR 33 YEARS. (United Press Association —Copyright). (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) PARIS, March 15. Forty thousand Germans and FrenchK nien packed the Colombes Stadium to. French and German teams play in the Soccer international match. It was the first match between these countries for 33 years. Thousands were turned away. Aeroplanes, reporting where the crowds were thickest, enabled traffic to be more easily controlled. Hundreds of mounted and foot police were on duty outside, but their task was light. There were no racial feelings apparent, eonfounding the pessimists who predicted rioting. The German.flag—red, black and gold*—mingled with' the tricolour above the score board 1 . Bands played the French and German anthems as the teams entered the field, the spectators standing bare-headed. France's winning score was the result of the German right-half, while attempting to clear, kicking the ball into his own goal. France, won by one goal to nil.
