DOCTOR, HIS WIFE AND AVIATOR
FIGHT AGAINST DIPHTHERIA
(United Press Association—Copyright., (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) VANCOUVER, March 14. Diphtheria is sweeping NorthWest Alaska. The veteran airman, Koe Crossan, made an epic flight of 1000 miles across the frozen wilderness and delivered 500,000 units of antitoxin. The Presbyterian Hospital is overflowing and Dr. Henry Griest, the only physician in this part of the frozen world, is working day and night, with his wife, for an immunisation of 300 natives and a dozen whites. . Several deaths are already reported.
