MR VERNON HARTSHORN. ,United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.0 a.m.) LONDON, March 13. The Rt. Hon. Vernon Hartshorn, Lord Privy Seal, Labour member for the Ogmore division of Glamorganshire, is dead, aged ;jB. Mr Hartshorn entered Parliament in 1918 as member for Ogmore. He was Postmaster-General in the first Labour Government in 1924 and last June succeeded Mr J. H. Thomas as Lord Privy Seal. At one time lie was president of the South Wales Miners' Federation. Mr Hartshorn was a member of the Government of India Statutory Commission of which Sir John Simon was chairman.
