The hotel at which he stayed last week received a message from Mr Andrew Moffatt stating that lie was detained owing to illness, but not indicating his address. A cablegram from New Zealand says that Mr Moffatt’s parents were not aware he had loft Australia, but Moflatt informed tho Australian Press Association that he came direct from New Zealand.

Mr Andrew Moffat, who, according to it recent London cablegram, * was to set out in a Bristol aeroplane ipr New Zealand', via Australia, ibut whose whereabouts are not now* known, is a son of Mr and Mrs James Moffat, Invorcargill. jtfr Moffat; is. single, aged 20, and was born in Westport, but received. bis education at the Marist Brothers School in Invercargill. He accepted a commission in the Australian Air Force, and lias been in the Commonwealth for about five years. He last visited Invercargill about a year ago on a holiday. Mrs Moffat last heard from her son in Fremantle, and was not aware that he had left Australia.
