Lowry captain* of the New Zealand team, to the position *of manager, Mr E. F. Nalder, chairman of the Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association, stated that ho considered the team would be overburdened by the captain occupying the double position and suggests that an additional plnyer should be taken.

The executive decided to telegraph to the New Zealand Council urging it to consider the advisability of sending an additional player on tour in view of the council’s decision to appoint, a play-er-manager.
