NO-CONFIDENCE.
LABOUR GIVES NOTICE. ADDRESS-IN-REPLY AMENDMENT. (Abridged from Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 11. In the House of Representatives today, Mr A. E. dull (U., Waipawa) gave notice of his intention to move, "That a respectful Address-in-Reply be presented to his Excellency the Gov-ernor-General.” Air H. B. Holland gave notice of his intention to move an amendment to the Address-in-Reply, to the effect that the Government did not possess the confidence of the House or the country. The official attitude of the Reform party is not disclosed so far, but it is believed its members are considering variations in the proposed flat rate of 10 per cent, deduction from public servants’ salaries. Point was given this report to-day when Air A. Harris, Reform member lor Waitemata, moved for a return which would show the total savings which would be effected by a 10 per cent, cut, also the savings it there was no reduction in salaries up to £2OO, but a 5 per cent, cut on salaries from £2OO to £SOO, a 10 per cent, cut on higher salaries to £IOO9, and 20 per cent, on salaries of ever £IOOO. ■ •
