AMERICANS' PROPOSED TOUR. WELLINGTON, This Day. Further advice regarding the proposed tour of New Zealand next season of the American athletes, George Bullwinkle and George Simpson, was received at the meeting of the council of the Amateur Athletic Association. A cablegram received from Mr G. C. Krogness on August 22 stated that Simpson would decide after the Chicago meeting. Bullwinkle was still in Europe. It was reported that the profit on the New Zealand championship meeting was £127.
Official recognition was granted to J. G. Leckie's hammer throw of 151 ft 6in for the 161 b hammer-throwing championship at Milton on February 15, as the best performance of the kind on record by a New Zealander.
