DESTROYED BY FIRE.

HOUSE AT FAIRTON. FEW CONTENTS SAVED. Fire destroyed a four-roomed wooden house at Fail-ton, occupied by Mr U Joy, at ibout 10.30 o’clock last night. Mr Joy was away at the time, but Mr 9 Joy and the children! were home. The origin is not known. The names soon had a firm hold, and defied the attempts of a bucket brigade to extinguish them. Attention was then given to the adjoining house, which escaped with a.scorching. Few of the contents were saved. It is not known whether the house or the contents were insured.
