A MOTOR-CYCLIST’S DEATH. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A warning that motor-cyclists, when travelling'at liigh speeds, should take into account the possibility of pistons seizing, was given by Mr McNeil, S.M., at an inquest touching the death of Terence Sefton Falloon, who fell off a motor-cycle on August 19, and died in the Wellington Hospital. The Coroner said the evidence showed that at the time of the accident deceased had attained a fairly high speed. He was satisfied that Falloon was not struck by any motor vehicle, and there was no obstruction on the road. Something had happened to the motorcycle, probably the seizing of a piston, a happening which motor-cyclists travelling at a high speed should take into account. The cycle had wobbled and skidded, and Falloon was thrown to the ground, receiving injuries from which he died.

ROAD WORKER INJURED. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. As the result of a blasting accident on the Summit Road, Mr Arthur Roy Thomson, a single man, received extensive injuries to his head. His condition is serious. He was placing a charge in a hole and an explosion occurred while he was covering it. THREE MEN MISSING. TE KUITI, This Day. Anxiety is felt regarding the safety of three ' men, Messrs R. Knapp, J. Newi-on and. E. Meredith, who went out on a hunting expedition in the Pukemako district, near Mangapehi, on Sunday, and have not yet returned. Search parties have been out _ since Monday. The men are all experienced Imshmen. They are employees at Ellis and Burnard’s mill. WOUNDED WHILE RABBITING. PALMERSTON N., August 25. While rabbit shooting yesterday, a lad named Maurice Dailies, aged lo vears was accidentally shot bv a companion with a pea rifle. No vital organs were affected. «> . Danks was about to gather in a rabbit which had been wounded, when the animal commenced to move. His companion fired, striking Danks in the back. Danks was operated on this morning.
