THE PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH. WELLINGTON'S BAD START. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Plunket Shield cricket match Auckland v. Wellington was resumed to-day in fine weather. With the addition of one (a no-ball from Henderson) to Auckland's overnight first innings score, Hunt was injured by a ball from 'Henderson in the second over and retired hurt. The innings was closed,for 433. Foley and Lowry opened. _ Wellington's first innings, MathesonTbeing the first bowler. Off his fourth ball, Foley was caught behind the Avickets by Hunt without a run haying been scored. Hollings was next. the last ball of his fifth over Matheson had Lowry caught by Hunt,' 7—2—6. At 28, Hollings, who was batting nicely, cocked one back to Matheson. 28 —3 —16. Cameron was next. With the score at 37, Ross was caught by Wensley in the slips. 37—4—11. In the last over before the luncheon adjournment, Cameron was stumped by Hunt off Anthony. 40 —5 —5.
