RUGBY LEAGUE.

AUSTRALIAN TOURISTS. V * (United Prest Association —Copyright.) LONDON, January 14. At the Rugby League dinner to the Australians at Leeds, Mr F. Matinson, in proposing the toast of the tourists, said the team had not disclosed any weak spot. Gorman was the finest captain he had ever seen in England. He hoped the “ashes” problem would be settled at the further test that would be played at Rochdale. He was sure that whichever side lost, it would do so with a good grace. Mr Sunderland, replying, said that he thought that although the reduced prices affected the receipts, a record number watched the games. He hoped that the popularisation of the game in London would enable it to be a national snort when next the Australians visited England. Dargan said the tourists were returning with - the happiest of memories of friendship and kindness off andi on the field. The team for the last Test will be: McMillan, Shanlcland, Fifield, Gorman. Spencer, Laws, Busch, Kingston, Treweeke, Armbruster, Brogan, Justice, Steinhort.
