RUAPUNA. At a meeting of bachelors and spinsters held in the hall on Tuesday night it was decided to hold a dance on April 26. Messrs C. Holland and H. R. Tasker were elected secretaries. Ail benedicts are to be cordially invited. • , -, At the Anglican Church on Sunday the unveiling ceremony of the memorial window given by brothers of the late Oliver Baxter, who gave his life in the Great. War, was dedicated by Archdeacon Purchas, who was asked to perform the ceremony, as he was the vicar of the parish 37 years ago. The annual harvest thanksgiving service was also held, the Rev. (Dyer preaching his farewell service. The church vras very tastefully decorated, and a variety of gifts are to be sent to St. Saviour's Orphanage, Timaru. The seating accommodation was taxed to its utmost,, extra seats haying to heplaced down the aisle. The local residents were well represented, and there were quite a number from surrounding districts.
