FOUND HANGING.

MAN IN POLICE CELL. {Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 28. Thomas Pauling, a labourer, aged 34, was found'hanging in liis cell at Mount Crawford! prison at 1.55 a.m. to-day. He made a rope by tearing his blankets into stripe and tying them together. Pauling was found in a state of helpless drunkenness in Lambton Quay on Christmas Eve, and wars arrested and locked up at the Central Police Station. He became violent, however, and was removed to Mount Crawford. Deceased was to have been dealt with in the Magistrate’s Court this morning.
