RUGBY FOOTBALL.
TfAMPSTEAD V. TEMUKA. A friendly Rugby match was played between the Hampstead and Temuka Clubs- resulting in a win for the latter by 17 points to 3. The ground ivas baa’d and players did not seem too keen to go down to the rushes. Nevertheless a hard interesting game resulted. For Hampstead, Whiting Millicliamp and Childs played a good game, while Beech (Temuka) was the best back on the field. The Temuka backs were superior in combination to their opponents. For the winners, tries were scored by K. Veitcli (3), K. Blyth (1); A. Gassaney kicked a. goal from a mark and Ives converted one try. For Hampstead, Whiting scored an unconverted toy.
