PRICE OF WHEAT.
OFFER BY THE MILLERS. STATEMENT BY COMMITTEE. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The following statement has been isued hv Mr W. W. Mulholland (chairman of'the Wheat Committee). “In a communique issued to the newspapers on April 19 flourmillers of New Zealand informed farmers that they had made an agreement to may 5s 7d on trucks for next year’s Tuscan wheat. Members of the Wheat Committee considered this announcement and decided to recommend growers not to make contracts at this low price, hut to await the committee’s {proposals, which will be ready shortly. “The committee draws particular attention to this direct evidence of buying organisation on the part of millers, which is given by this announcement, and stresses the great need of action to meet it on the part of the growers, particularly in view of the price offered.”
