LIQUOR FOR BOARDERS
AN IMPORTANT DECISION
LICENSEE ALONE CAN ACT. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An important decision was given by Mr Justice Adams this morning, when he allowed an appeal against the decision of a Magistrate, and held that Eva Lilly Low, wife of the licensee of the Wellington Hotel, did supply liquor illegally after hours to men claimed to be bona fide guests. His Honor said that the section under which the information had been laid prohibited! the supply of liquor by any person other than the licensee. The word " supply" included gratuitous supply or gift, and Mrs Low was a person other than the licensee.
