A BOMBSHELL. PROTEST CAUSES SENSATION. LONDON, March 28. The ‘ ‘Daily Express’ ’ says a racing sensation threatened the week-end in connection with King Club’s win in the Lincolnshire Handicap. Dawson, the trainier of Zionist, which was second, posted an objection against the winner. settling day was Monday the objection was a bombshell, affecting bets all the world over, totalling £2,000,000. Many bookmakers who had already paid on King Club’s win, would be obliged if the pi'otest were upheld, also to pay over on Zionist, while the popular double on Zionist and Jack Homer, winner of tk*. Grand National, would become operative. Fortunately, late _on Sunday, Dawson cancelled his objection.
