CROQUET.
THE METHVEN CLUB. There was a good attendance at the Methven croquet lawn on Saturday, when a number of friendly games were, played. Considerable interest centred in the handicap matches for a trophy presented by Mrs J. F. Newman. This was won by Mrs J. Allen.
BOWLING.
THE METHVEN CLUB.
During last week several games were played on the Methven bowling green in the singles competition, the first and second rounds being completed in both sections.
The details are: A. Section. First Round. —Waddington beat Buckett by default, Thompson beat Anderson, Forrest beat Crooks, Cooksley beat Sim. Second Round. —Sim beat Buckett by default, Cooksley beat Waddington, Thompson beat Cook, Forrest beat Anderson. B. Section. First Round.—Beattie beat Nickolls, Morgan beat Bowling, P. Cookson beat Lawson, G. Cookson beat A. Smith. Second Round.—Beattie heat Smith, P. Cookson heat Dowling, Lawson beat Morgan, Nickolls beat G. Cookson. Draw for Third Round.
The following is the draw for the third round :
A Section.—Sim plays Forrest, Waddington plays Thompson, Cooksley a bye. B Section.—Beattie plays Morgan, Lawson plays Nickolls, P. Cookson plays G. Cookson. ASHBURTON v. SUNNYSIDE.
