THE WEATHER

HEAVY SHOWERS OF RAIN. Following on yesterday's threatening weather, several heavy showers of rain fell early this morning, 18 points being recorded at 9 o'clock. The sky is still dull and overcast, and further rain is threatening. The barometer has risen 11 points to 29.60 inches'. Yesterday's temperatures showed a decided drop on those of the previous day, ranging between 44 and 55 degrees, compared with 51 and 71 degrees.
