TIMARU MARKETS. TIMARU, July 25. No local wheat is offering by farmers, but there is a fair demand for seed iuscan for late sowing. Fanners are well advanced with their work as a result of the fine winter, and a fair amount oi spring wheat will be sown, as prospects of remunerative prices are encouragjno\ i . Fowl wheat has eased slightly owing to improved Australian wheat being used, in the North Island. There is a good demand for seed and feed oats. Stocks are within small compass. Merchants are anxiously awaiting the'arrival of the Canadian expected to land in Timaru next rnontu by tlic Nordbo. Prices for feed range from OS to 5s 6d per bushel. Dressed seed lines realise 6s. . Potatoes are dull, with very little shipping demand.- Wellington and Auckland markets are being supplied with Australian importations. Prices are nominally £5 per ton, sacks in, at country stations. , Good bright oatslieaf chaff is in good demand, prices being £< per ton on trucks at country stations, sacks tound by buyers. - Heavy machine-dressed ryegrass is m good demand for spring sowing purposes. Prices range from 7s 6d to 8s 6d pci bushel. „ Cocksfoot is slow, farmers dressed lines realising from 7d to 8d per lb. Standard Akaroa 171 b to 181 b machinedressed seed, is worth Is per lb. Colonial cowgrass, samples of which are of poor quality, is very hard to place. Prices run from 7d to 8-Ri tor machine-dressed. Good coloured seed is worth lOd to Is. . Very little linseed is offering. In this line standard f.a.q. can be quoted at £l6 10s per ton, sacks extra. Lower qualities bring £l2 to £l3 a ton.
