DISCIPLES OF REVOLT. GROWING ACTIVITY IN BRITAIN. (Per Press Association, Copyright.) LONDON, October 29. There were amazing scenes at Westminster. An organised body of communists, carrying red flags, broke up a meeting, using stink bombs, whistles and rattles. Finally they rushed the platform and tore down the Union Jack. Several were injured m a bout of fistiouffs with the stewards. Lord Derby, escaped scathless. Afterwards wooden were discovered, labelled "Anarchist bombs," and stink ■ bombs made m Germany. Ex-service and other unemployed broke up an Empire Union meeting at the Central Hall, Westminster, and howled down Lord Derby. Many free fights occurred m the audience. The promoters left the hall. Later the police cleared the rowdies out. (Receiyed October 31, "8.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 30. The Australian Press Association understands that there is growing anxiety regarding _ the increased activity m Communistic circles It is admitted officially that at least 200 disturbed Lord Derby's meeting, including Germans. It is also believed there are more ex-seryice men among the Communists than was the case three months ago. The grave unemployment and consequent distress are aiding the movement, the progress of which would be checked if relief were immediately available. . .- ■ Mr Grattan and Mr Doyle tabled questions m the House ,of Commons, asking if the Home Secretary was aware that active Russian Bolshevik revolutionaries were attached to the majority of Communist clubs m England, that recruiting for an armed force is itf progress, that a secret order was issued prior to the unemployed demonstration to resist the police and create as much disorder as possible.
