ADMIRALTY'S INTENTIONS.

DOMINIONS TO BE CONSULTED. (Per Press Ausociation Copyright.) - LONDON January 29. Since the "Daily Chronicle's" recent announcement the sub-committee of Imperial Defence has continued its inquiry. It is known, that a large body of the Adjniralty evidently is m favour of continuing to build big ships, though financial difficulties are very great. It now is understood that Cabinet will not come to a final decision m the matter until it has consulted the Dominions at the Premiers' Conference. (Received January 31, 12.40 p.m.) LONDON, January 30. The deadlock m the "big ship" enquiry is due to the predominately civilian character of the committee, which is dealing with a highly teenical subr ject. On one hand they are impressed by the march of invention and the lessons learned through the air and undersea activities, and on the other hand they found a big rally through- [ out the higher ranks of the Admiralty m favour of big ships.
