Educated in Sydney, - he was admitted to*the New., South Wales .gar in 1871, and the '^ew Zealand Bar 'in 1* 1872. For some eleven years he :.tcfok an active part in politics, and Ivas Minister: for Justice from 1884 to .1887. He. was also a/member of the Board of''Governors of the Auckland Grammar School and University College, and was a fellow of the New Zealand University).
Mrs Frampton, widow of the late Mr G. Frampton, who died at Brookside on Tuesday, came out from Walton,. Somersetshire, , England, in the ship Captain Cook in 1863, landing at Lyttelton. After residing a short time, at Spreydon, her husband took up a. small: holding at Brookside,. which he inoreased to about 175 acres. For over 50 years'the late Mrs Frampton resided at Brookside. The: deceased Jady took a deep interest in. church' affairs and was a. member and regular worshipper at the Brooksdde Methodist Church. .' She leaves two sons,, both well-known farmers, Messrs Frank GFrampton, Brookside, and. Fred Frampton, Ashburton; •'• The interment, which was of ,a private nature, tqok place in the .Brookside cemetery on Thursday, the Rev. W., Laycock, of Leeston, officiating at the .graveside,; On Sunday evening a *'memorial service was held in the Brookside Methodist Church, Mrs McGill singing the solo "Lead Kindly Light.", .
