A question of some importance in international relations was discussed at the Dutch R-eformed Church bynod, several speakers emphasising the remarkable growth of -Mohammedanism in native Central Africa, which was attributed to the greater- simplicity and. sensuous appeal of Islam.\ This was regarded as a the whites^ It is estimated that there are 60,000,000 Mohammedans, in: Africa, .'as.«^inst 9.000.000 Christians' and; 'JU,uOU,UUU pagans.
