ARRIVAL AT ASHBURTON.
A larpe crowd assembled at the Ashburton railway station this morning to welcome the special train carrying returning soldiers of the Arawa draft when several district men, including two with English brides,, arrived. (Mr P. fwrunan). informally welcomed v the Ashburton men who were conveyed to their homes £ cars provided by the Automobile Association. A party of 3Red C^mkers under Mesdames D. M. Montgom cry and James Cow distributed cigarettes and apples to the troop* on the train ,and also free tickets foi tea and sandwiches at the refreshment rooms.
