WANTED EVERYONE TO ASSIST: /"VWING to the rapid return of Many of our Soldier Bandsmen, it is found absolutely -necessary to reequip the Band with, a Complete Set of New Instruments, at a cost of approximately £700. In this matter the Military Authorities, by shouldering practically the whole of the working expenses, are rendering valuable assistance; but it is essential that the band have the. whole-hearted support of the Public >of . Ashburton. In order that the instruments may be vested entire-ly-in the County, local gentlemen have been appointed Trustees. Remember that never in the history of Ashburton has the Local Band been in possession of a Complete Set of Instruments, and now is the time to put it on a similar footing to the bands of other towns. The members at great personal sacrifice have managed.to keep the band, alive during the period of the great war, and now confidently look to the public to recognise the services, gratuitously rendered at all public and patriotic functions, and rely on most generous support on j BAND DAY: SATURDAY NEXT.
