WATERTON.

On Thursday evening last a very successful social and dance was held in the Waterton Hall to welcome home Staff-Sergeant E. Soal and Private W. 11. J^iine. Mr J. P. Blee presided. Dunne the evening the cnairman, on behalf of the residents of the district, presented each soldier with a handsome gold medal, suitably, inscribed. Both soldiers responded. -

Mr N. March added a few words of welcome, and wished them every success.

Dancins; was kept up with 'much spirit till the early hours of the morning, to music Ruwlied by Mr and Miss Gluvns and others. Mr J. Bailey acted as M.C. The singing of " Auld Lang Syne." brought a very enjoyable even ins to a close.
